[Case Study] Switching from cutting processing to MIM reduces material costs and lead time!
We propose optimal shapes and manufacturing methods tailored to your needs and budget. If you are looking for thin-walled and fine metal parts, please contact Castem.
The image shows an example of a metal part that was traditionally produced through cutting processes, which has been switched to mass production using the MIM (Metal Injection Molding) method. The improvement in mass production capabilities has significantly reduced lead times. Since the weight of the product greatly affects costs in MIM, a bold reduction of 90g was achieved, from 130g to 40g, while maintaining strength and accommodating the original complex three-dimensional shape. Material: SUS304L Weight: 40g Size: 40×35×35 **Features of Castem's MIM** - Specializes in thin-walled and finely detailed three-dimensional complex shapes, offering superior mechanical strength compared to conventional sintered products. The surface is smooth, and the dimensional accuracy of the metal molded parts is high. - Exhibits properties equivalent to those of wrought materials in terms of torsion and bending. - Compatible with a wide range of materials, including Cr-Mo steel, special steels, and titanium. - With multiple base factories in Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Colombia, it is not reliant on a single factory, allowing for a broader range of responses in emergency situations and ensuring stable supply. - Quality management is conducted under a solid management system with ISO9001 certification for both domestic and overseas factories. - Castem's MIM parts are actively used in industries that require precision, such as medical device components and aerospace parts.
